The Deccan Chargers will take on the Delhi Daredevils in the 46th game of the Indian Premier League 2011. The two sides are in a similar position and the plain fact of the matter is that they are struggling to make things go their way. The team losing this game could very well be knocked out of the tournament.
The Chargers have had a poor set of a couple of games. It started out with
a defeat at the hands of Chennai Super Kings, which was followed by the loss
to the Kolkata Knight Riders. In both the games, it was surprising to see the
middle order bat in the manner that they did. The likes of Cameron White
and even captain Kumar Sangakkara did not do much of a job and the side
was left with a 20-run defeat.

Earlier, the Chargers had dropped Dale Steyn for their previous game
but had no option but to get him back in place of the out of form JP Duminy.
One gets the sense that the Chargers will have no option but to continue playing
him with a chance that White may be replaced for some games before Sangakkara
leaves for his international commitments.
The Delhi Daredevils were plundered and looted in their previous game
as well. They went down rather easily against the Kochi Tuskers, making it difficult
for the side to now qualify for the next round. They have six points from their
nine games and if they win all their games from here, they could still have
a chance of going through to the next round.
Delhi have a battery of pace bowlers and it will not make sense for the Chargers
to have a pitch which will assist the fast bowlers. This is because while the
Chargers have two quality spinners, the Daredevils' best option is Roelof van
der Merwe.
The Daredevils will look to bat more consistently. Far too often, they have got
the runs and then there have been other games where they have not got the runs,
making it a difficult tournament for them. It has been proven that if Sehwag or
Warner get a big one, the side invariably go on to win the game and that is exactly
what the Dareevils need - a ripper of a start from the two.
Delhi will be slight favourites.
