The South Australian Redbacks will take on the Warriors in the second semi-finals
of the Champions League T20 this year. The winner of this game will face the winner
of the Bangalore-Chennai game which will be played on Friday.
South Australia had an all-win record in the tournament and were clearly the
team to beat. They started off with a game against the Lions, who had earlier
beaten the Mumbai Indians. The South Australians batted first and compiled a
good total thanks to the captain Michael Klinger and Callum Ferguson,
which the Lions failed to chase down thanks to the bowling of Shaun Tait and
company.

the opposition should have won. instead, chasing a target of more than 180,
the South Australians were dropped on a countless occasions and by the time
they caught something the game was over thanks to a brilliant middle-order that
the side possessed.
Then South Australia were almost relentless, as they first thrashed the Bangalore
side in another one-sided first round game and followed it up with a win over
the Guyanese side. Shaun Tait was clearly the man to look out for as
he bowled such a nagging line and at such a pace that it was almost impossible
to score off him without losing one's wickets.
As compared to that, even the Western Warriors had a good start to the tournament.
they won three games in a row and should have been easy semi-finalists. The
Warriors started off with a game against the Wayamba team and easily chased
down the target thanks to a good innings by Mark Boucher. This was followed
by a smashing innings of 50 by Davey Jacobs in the game against Victoria
and that won them their second game.
In the third game of the tournament, the side were up against the Central Stags.
The Stags had gone into the game after having beaten by the Victorians, but
looked good when they scored a healthy 160 plus score. however, Jacobs excelled
with the bat again, and that won them their third game.
The scenario in the last league game was such that even if the Western Warriors
lost the game, it was going to be easy for them to qualify for the semi-finals.
They had only to score 109 runs while chasing 137 for a win, and that is exactly
what they did to get to the semi-finals.
