The 35th game of the World Cup will see Australia take on Canada in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. The match will be played on March 16 and will be played at
the M Chinnaswamy in Bangalore.
This will also be one of those games which have hardly any relevance, thanks
to the fact that Australia have already qualified for the next round, Canada
are already out of the tournament and there is a huge difference in the quality
of the two sides.

Australia have won three games and their fourth was abandoned, leaving them
with seven points from four games. The only way by which this game could become
relevant is by the way of the standings in the points table. Australia
should win this game in a canter but if they do not win this one, it could mean
that they will not end up on the top of the points table - subject to the result
against Pakistan.
This could also mean that the side will be looking to ensure that they finish
Canada off, in order to get a chance to face one of England, West Indies or
Bangladesh in the tournament quarter-finals. While Australia had beaten England
6-1 recently, West Indies is definitely not a very strong side as compared to
the others while Bangladesh will struggle to get anything going.
Australia did experiment a little in their last game against Kenya but they
will be back to their original strategy of blasting the opponents out with solid
pace than relying on spinners. The spinners have struggled for the Aussies in
this tournament and have averaged as high as 75 while picking their wickets.
On the other hand, the Aussie pace bowlers have done all the damage.
The other issue that the Australian side will be concerned with is the batting
of Brad Haddin and Ricky Ponting, both of who have to get going with
the bat in the World Cup. Haddin has had a couple of starts but he hasn't been
able to make it big whereas Ponting has an average of 25 in the tournament -
hardly a world-beating average.
From Canada's perspective, they will look to emulate what they did against
the Kiwis with the bat. Ashish Bagai got close to a 100 whereas Jimmy Hansra
made an unbeaten half century. However, where they need to improve by leaps
and bounds is their bowling. We are looking at another 300-plus score here.
