The Australia will look for a clean sweep of wins on the tour against Pakistan,
after winning the ODI series as well, when the two teams meet each other at Perth.
It is difficult to predict a Pakistani win in the game. After all, they seemed
to have done everything possible and yet, a win has looked elusive. During the
Test series, at least they came close to winning the Sydney Test, but in the
three ODIs so far, there hasn't been a single match where they have looked like
they would be able to make it to the scoreline.
Click for Live Score Card of Australia vs PakistanThey have already tried quite a few players around in the series, and except
Salman Butt and Shahid Afridi, not too many have looked too good in the
three games so far. The opener was unlucky to be given out lbw as the decision
was rather appalling from Ashoka de Silva, while Shahid Afridi seems
to be contributing with either the bat or the ball in the series. the fourth
game will need to see a couple of the rest from the top five to get a move on.
Fawad Alam and Umar Akmal showed why they are tipped to be the future of the
Aussie side with their neat batting and useful partnership in the third match,
but more consistency is the need of the hour for the Pakistanis.
Unfortunately for the Pakistanis, their bowling has failed to get going. Bowling
was said to be their strength, but injuries to Mohammad Asif and Aamer
have pegged the Pakistanis back by a mile. Aamer has been ruled out of the series
with an injury, and will need to regroup quite quickly to take advantage of
the Perth wicket.
The Aussies have been confident, and have rested two of their bowlers; Shane Watson and Doug Bollinger. In place of them Mitchell Johnson will come back
after being rested out of the first three games, and that has meant that the
opposition will barely get any time to rest. The rest of the line-up remains
the same, but it is not known yet whether Peter Siddle in fit enough or no.
That could mean that the bowling will revolve around Johnson, Clint McKay and
the new guy Ryan Harris. Harris had scalped five wickets in the previous game
against Pakistan, and will look to continue bowling in the same manner.
Australia batting has been their strength, but with the resting of Watson,
Brad Haddin may be promoted up the order to open the innings with Shaun Marsh.
One of Adam Voges or James Hopes could then make it to the playing eleven.
