The Royal Challengers Bangalore will face the Delhi Daredevils in the 20th
match of the IPL on Thursday. The match will be played in Bangalore. The Bangalore
side is on a roll and have won three successive games, whereas the Delhi team
is on a roll as well, but on the losing side. After winning two successive games,
Delhi Daredevils has lost three games to Mumbai, Chennai and Deccan and
will look to make the most out of this match.
Click Here to Watch Bangalore Royal Challengers Vs Delhi Daredevils Live The good thing about the Bangalore side is the manner in which, they have combined
their batting and bowling together. It is not as if one department is performing
and expected to do all the work, but both, batting and bowling superbly complementing
each other currently.
In both the games, against Rajasthan and Mumbai, the bowlers sent down a barrage
of short stuff, each time ensuring that the bouncers were way below the requisite
height, making it difficult to score for the batsmen. And this was followed
with the deliveries that swung around a little, thus adding to the batsman's
issues. In fact, the manner in which Dale Steyn, Jacques Kallis, Praveen
Kumar and Vinay Kumar have bowled in the last two games for the Bangalore side,
it can easily be termed as one of the best bowling line-ups in IPL today.
As compared to that, the Delhi side are struggling. They lost Gautam Gambhir
in the third game, and in fact, had lost Ashish Nehra even before the tournament
started, thus spoiling the balance of the side. Expecting Dirk Nannes to do
all the work all the time is simply not done, and the other bowlers will have
to take up the gauntlet as well.
However, it is not the bowling that is a major headache for the Delhi side.
It is their batting side that has struggled to get going after the openers have
been dismissed. So it is either Virender Sehwag or Dave Warner, or nobody
else who scores the runs. Gambhi is obviously out, but to increase the balance
of the side, the Delhi side went in with Moises Henriques, and that meant that
T Dilshan was dropped from the side.
One may see the return of Tillakaratne Dilshan in the next game but
the question that remains is in place of whom. Personally I would like to think
that eve AB de Villiers needs some time out from the playing eleven to be able
to go back to nets and get going.
