With only two wins from ten matches, Deccan Chargers are unsurprisingly
last on the points table. They will need some major stroke of luck to swing
the tide in their favor with only six matches to play.
That fortune was nowhere to be seen though against Chennai Super Kings as they
succumbed to a ten-run loss due to their inability to accelerate in the middle
overs. Cameron White and Shikhar Dhawan will once again be the key batsmen
as both have looked in good touch, before both ended up being run out in contrasting
fashion.
The bowlers will largely look up to Dale Steyn while Kumar Sangakkara,
the captain, is struggling to find the right players for the right job.
For the Royal Challengers Bangalore, their back to back defeats have left them
with only nine points from ten matches. However, with them playing Chargers twice
in the remaining six matches, the chances look good for them to stake a claim
for the semi-finals.
Bangalore lost to Kings XI Punjab though in the last match off the penultimate
deliver, though they looked out of the game through most part. Chris Gayle
has been the lone fighter with the bat while the others have been variable.
Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers will need to get all cylinders firing to propel
them to a solid batting effort. The bowling department is also a struggling
story with Vinay Kumar and Zaheer Khan being bothersome with their form
and economy.
Royal Challengers Bangalore are the hosts for the match that starts at 8.00pm.
