The Royal Challengers Bangalore will play the Rajasthan Royals in the 10th
game of the Indian Premier League at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. The
Bangalore side did not have a great first game in the tournament and lost to the
Kolkata Knight Riders rather easily, whereas the Rajasthan Royals start
to the tournament was even worse, when Mumbai and Delhi recorded wins over the
side.
The Bangalore team will be playing at home and with the kind of pitch that
there is for the game, it is only natural that one can expect a lot of runs
in the game. However, it also depends on how the Bangalore top-order fares against
the bowling, given that in the first match, most of them except Jacques Kallis
and to an extent Rahul Dravid had collapsed like nine pins.

much better than they did against Kolkata. Pandey was surprisingly slow off
the blocks, could not get his feet moving and played seven deliveries for his
duck - a rare occurrence. The other two also failed to get going too much and
in the end, it was left for the senior pros to do the job.
The likes of Kallis and Dravid, while they are good, big scorers in any format
of the game, can be expected to play only so much quickly in this format. This
is why, it is imperative for the rest of the batsmen to afford these senior
pros and the bowling an opportunity to win the game for their side.
The Royals, on the other hand, have looked like a pale shadow of themselves.
Shane Warne has struggled with his own bowling as his shoulder seems
to have not yet recovered too well, whereas the rest of the batsmen have looked
brittle. Rajasthan's problem is that they do not have someone of the calibre
of Shane Watson to be able to take up a broader role, and the biggest dropout
for them was when Ravindra Jadeja was axed from the IPL this year.
Hence, without any of these likes, Warne and co. have had to depend a tad too
heavily on the rest, who are not necessarily experienced in this level. Mascarenhas
has been one who has looked a part, but with Graeme Smith not having
had much going his way things could get difficult for the Royals.
