The second Test match between Bangladesh and England will be played at
Dhaka from the 20th of February as the English side will look to increase their
lead from 1-0 and make a clean sweep of the series. The first Test match was won
by England by 181 runs, which is a big enough margin, but the English bowlers
had to toil really hard for the win, as the Bangladeshi tail more than wagged.
There is no doubt about the fact that the Bangladeshis are improving with every
Test match. Of course, there is a good way still to go before they can think
of beating international sides of the stature of England, but they will
be thrilled with their performances against England.

been a struggle. On a consistent basis, they are conceding away 500 plus totals
in double quick time, something that has happened in each of the three out of
the four Tests that they have played this year. Even in the fourth Test match,
Indian had raked up a near-450 total
This means that the Bangladeshi bowling could do with a bit of self-introspection,
and shuffle things around a bit. The one man who needs to take up a lot of onus
for this is the captain, Shakib al Hasan, himself given that he has not been
performing too well with the bat or with the ball, and a captain like him could
be dangerous in terms of drooping motivation levels.
Apart from him, what the Bangladeshis also need is for once, for all the batsmen
to score the runs. Far too often the top-order piles up the runs, but only for
the lower order to give way, and there is a case of the other way around as
well being true.
From England's point of view, it was a win well deserved. Of course, there
were areas that need improvements, but they will be satisfied with their efforts
so far. The most satisfied would obviously be the captain Alastair Cook,
who smashed a match-winning 174 in the game, along with Graeme Swann who scalped
his first ten-wicket haul.
Swann, in fact, became the first bowler since the times of Jim Laker
to get a wicket in his first over a record 18th time, and will look to continue
with his all-round abilities. With Michael Carberry having done enough
to merit another go, and Kevin Pietersen back in form, the English will be doubly
dangerous for this game.
