The second Test match between India and Bangladesh will be played
from Sunday, 24th of January at the Shere Bangla Stadium in Dhaka. India
leads the series 1-0 after a convincing win at Chittagong, and will look to make
it a clean sweep at Dhaka. The hosts, on the other hand, will look to salvage
something from the game; a draw will be the best they would be hoping for.

India had a good game in the first Test after the weather ensured that almost half the
overs were not bowled. They need to thank their bowlers in both the innings and
the batting in the second innings after they had been bowled out for a little
more than 200 in the first innings. For the second game though, the changes that
would happen would be probably due to the injuries and return from injuries than
anything else. For starters, sanity should prevail in the press conferences,
when MS Dhoni will take up the mantle of the captaincy back from Virender Sehwag.
Sehwag had caused much furore in the press conference by calling Bangladesh an
ordinary side. Dhoni's entry will mean that the ordinary looking Dinesh Karthik
will be reconfined to the cools of the dressing room as well. Apart from
him, Harbhajan Singh has been declared fit for the second Test as well. This will
mean that he should be a definite entry into the side, but who goes out will be
an interesting question. Amit Mishra had a good first Test, whereas fast bowler
S Sreesanth struggled with his no-balls and barely managed to hit the lines and
the lengths needed. To add to that, the pace bowler also had some hamstring issue
that saw him walk away and hence, there is a good chance that the Indians will
go into the game with two spinners and Zaheer and Ishant Sharma to handle the
new ball. The Bangladeshis will be rueing their batting. Some of the batsmen
got starts but they looked like they were in an ODI mode and started to hit everything
around. That also meant that the Indians knew that they were only a wicket away
from triggering a collapse. The Bangladeshi batsmen need to overcome these teething
issues and get partnerships going. They cannot afford to keep relying on
their captain Shakib al Hasan to keep delivering with the bat and the ball
all the time. He had seven wickets to his name again in the game, and it will
need the others to put their hands up and take the attack to the opposition.
