The second ODI between Bangladesh and Ireland will be played on the same
ground at Stormont in Ireland. Bangladesh had started off badly in the first ODI
and will look to improve upon their batting display in the first few overs when
the ball is expected to swing around under the Irish conditions.
Click for Live Score Card of Bangladesh Vs IrelandBangladesh will look to ensure that they continue with the good work from playing
so much international cricket in the last few months. They had earlier got the
better of England in the second ODI of that series and despite been routed in
the third, would have been happy with their work. They will now look to get
the better of Ireland in the second ODI as well before playing a game each against
Holland and Scotland.
Tamim Iqbal continues to fail and one gets the sense that he is not properly
adjusted to the conditions in the UK. The ball has swung around and that has
meant that Tamim Iqbal, has found it difficult to score the runs. He
gets another chance to prove his record against Ireland.
In the second ODI, Bangladesh will need to continue playing without any complacency
creeping in. They will look to bring out their experience and go on to end the
series on a high. Much like what happened in the first ODI, the early wickets
were stalled by some good, experienced batting by the Bangladeshi middle-order,
something that can only be acquired with experience.
However, Ireland has had a great couple of series going into this game, and
will know how to bounce back from the defeat. Even a little complacency and
Bangladesh could be in trouble.
As was shown in the previous match, the Bangladeshi middle-order finally seemed
to come good. Shakib al Hasan finally played an innings of note and that is
something that the side will want from everyone else as well.
Mashrafe Mortaza's progress as a bowler and a captain will continue here against
Ireland and one gets the feeling that he will only be happy if he wins
all the remaining games on the UK tour. My feel is that Bangladesh should win
this rather easily.
