Bangladesh will play the last game of the tour of United Kingdom against Holland at Glasgow and will hope that they end on a winning note. Bangladesh's game against
Scotland at this venue was rained off very early yesterday and this will mean
that today's game could also be under a lot of threat from the rain and hence
cause issues to the members of both sides.
Click for Live Score Card of Bangladesh Vs NetherlandsBangladesh will understand that they cannot let their guard loose any time
in the series. They may be a better side than Scotland or Holland, but if they
act complacently, there is not so much difference between the two that Bangladesh
will still expect to win the game.
In this game, Bangladesh will look to introduce the medium-pace bowlers,
given that the moisture in the wicket due to the rains and inclement weather
would allow them to enjoy the conditions much more than anybody else. Bangladesh
usually relies on spinners and will not let go off the same, but the plain fact
is that this is not a track meant for them, until very late in the game.
Bangladesh will worry about another issue and that is their batting. Tamim Iqbal may have retained his form, but if they were to bat first in this
early morning start, the trouble could be theirs. With the likes present in
the Dutch side who can get the ball to nip around a little and trouble their
oppositions like the way they had done in the World T20 game against England
in 2009.
Holland, on the other hand, will be hoping for a better performance than what
they had dished out against their rivals in the ICC World Cricket League Division
One title. They had finished fourth in that tournament, ahead only of Kenya
and Canada, but after losing to Ireland, Scotland and Afghanistan (twice)
Peter Borren will continue to lead the side even as Bas Zuiderent will look
to make the best of being the best player in the Dutch side. Tom Cooper had
slammed a 96 in the game against Afghanistan, and in the seven games
that he has played at the ODI level, he averages more than 80. That will obviously
come down with more games, but his form suggests that he is the man that Bangladesh
will have to beware about. Cooper has played a lot of cricket in Australia and
has that style attacking cricket which should help him against the opposition.
