 In
the one off Twenty20 match Bangladesh have taken their long time cherished
revenge but their celebration comes to an end very soon as they were once again
beaten by the Caribbean side by 40 runs. Two more ODI matches left and the next
ODI will be played in October 15 at 14:00 IST or 8:30GMT in Dhaka.

Batting first West Indies put up a very big total of298/4 for Bangladesh
as it was higher than the chasing total of Bangladesh against any side in two
years. In fact, it was very close to their highest ever chasing winning total
313 runs and it was second highest total of the tourists again Bangladesh.
Their opener Simmons got his first century in his career, scoring 122 runs
from124 balls. Hard hitter Marlon Samuels also smashed Bangladeshi bowlers
hitting 71 runs from 78 balls and later on Kieron Pollard did join the
party scoring 41 runs only from25 balls. So, for the next ODI match Bangladesh
have to be more concerned about their bowling attacks. They proved themselves
venom less in front of the new Caribbean side.
They should try something new. ODI is much tougher than Twenty20I; home side must
not forget this. While bowling fielding is also very crucial so, they should not
make mistakes like the previous match when they failed to exploit the chance of
taking wickets of Samuels and the centurion Simmons, but the good thing was their
batting was reasonably good but it never looked they were chasing the Caribbean
side.
West Indies go the result they wanted. They could not believe their defeat in
the Twenty20I and they showed their talent and got a comprehensive win. They must
be happy and will be trying to seal the series by winning the second ODI. One
thing they can improve is their bowling attack because if the home side put up
a total like this 258 runs, it may be bit risky for them, so they have to think
about their bowling performance, though it was proved enough but they should not
be much happy with the performance they have shown.
In the second ODI, undoubtedly, the tourists have the edge. They will be trying
to keep more pressure on the home Bangladeshi side to snatch a win so that they
can win the series with one match to spare. Bangladeshi tigers will not let them
do this so easily. They will make it much harder for them as this is their last
chance to be in the competition.
