Bangladesh will be happy with their performance in the previous couple of games.
They were able to overcome an early lead that the Zimbabweans took in the series
and win the next two to go 2-1 up. the Chittagong weather could be a cause for
concern but that could also mean that if the game gets underway it could be a
rain-shortened game and will need the sides to be on their toes for it.
The issue that Zimbabwe have had throughout the series has been to do with their
batting. They have failed to get going with the bat in their hand and lost wickets
rather regularly throughout the series. Abdur Razzaq has continued to remain
their nemesis and will look to continue to take the wickets as regularly as he
has so far. He has taken 13 wickets in the series so far which is 2 wickets short
of the record of 15 wickets taken in five ODIs ever and that is what he will look
to break.
It has been a surprise that the Zimbabwean batsmen have failed to get going against
Razzaq even when the side has played defensively. The ball has spun continuously
and caused many issues to all the top order batsmen.
What makes it even more difficult for the side is that the return to form of Mashrafe Mortaza, who failed to get going throughout the series before hitting the
straps in the third ODI. Given that the rhythm is back for him, things could get
interesting for the Zimbabwean batsmen.
Bangladesh will be a much happier lot for obvious reasons but the one thing they
will need to be wary of is the manner in which Zimbabweans can come back. Especially
given that the side would know that it is a matter of losing one game and not
winning the series. While the first game's result was more to do with the manner
in which Bangladesh played than the Zimbabweans, they will need one good
batting performance to put pressure on the hosts.
If Brendan Taylor clicks, the rest of the side could look to pile up a 250-260
total and make it difficult for the home team.
