The two defeated sides from the matches on Tuesday will square off against each
other on Thursday as Royal Challengers Bangalore take on Chennai Super
Kings. The two teams, considered the big powerhouses in the Indian Premier
League, are currently languishing in the bottom half of the table.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have a win from two matches, as their defeat on Tuesday
gave Kolkata Knight Riders their first win. Bangalore lost by 42 runs, their innings
falling apart at the start of their run-chase of 165 runs.

Chris Gayle played his first match and got out early, but will be hoping to
fix his record against Chennai Super Kings - a team that has gotten the
better of him usually. While the bowlers didn't do badly overall, Harshal Patel's
expensive bowling escalated the target higher.
Captain Daniel Vettori will be banking on his batsmen to come good with
Gayle, AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli in his line up. Muttiah Muralitharan
will be keen to impress against his former franchise as he represented Chennai
for three seasons.
Chennai Super Kings suffered a batting collapse similar to their opening match
collapse against Mumbai Indians. This time, Delhi Daredevils put the Kings on
the back foot with a first-ball run out of Murali Vijay who went back
without facing a ball. From there, matters only looked bad for Chennai as Dwayne
Bravo's 22 ended up as the highest score, although six batsmen made it to double
figures.
With a nothing total to defend, the bowlers also were rendered ineffective as
the target was chased down in just over 13 overs. Captain MS Dhoni will be seeking
better consistency from his batsmen who have shown fragilities in all the three
matches so far.
Chennai, the hosts for the match, will be hoping to avoid their third defeat of
the tournament as action gets underway at 4.00pm.
