The third match of the Champions League T20 will see the Central Districts
take on the Chennai Super Kings at Durban on September 11. This is going to be
a night match and will start at 5.30 pm local time.
Central Districts were the winners of the T20 Cup that happened in New Zealand
last season. They had beaten Auckland in the final of the tournament to qualify
for the Champions League. Last year, they had not been a part of the CLT20,
which means that this will be a whole new experience for them, but the good
news is that the matches will be played in South Africa a country
which favours the fast tracks and allows the ball to swing around much like
in their own nation of New Zealand.

of their main players, and for different reasons. For one, Jacob Oram
has been ruled out of the Champions League T20 due to his knee and back issues.
Secondly, their best batsman, and one of the better batsmen in this format of
the game, Ross Taylor has been bought over by the Royal Challengers Bangalore
and that will mean that the Central batting is a tad weaker than it should be.
The inclusion of Mathew Sinclair will add the necessary experience to
the side, but the question that everybody seems to be asking is whether they
possess the batting to make the opposition struggle.
Chennai, on their part, will go into the tournament as one of the sides to
follow. They are led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni and have the likes of Michael
Hussey and Matthew Hayden in the batting, to go with Suresh Raina in the middle-order,
this is a batting line-up that can take on the rest of the world. What the Super
Kings may have to guard against is complacency and the fact that the format
does not allow for too many mistakes.
The Chennai Super Kings bowling had been a problem for most part of
the IPL, before Doug Bollinger joined the side. Once Bollinger was in the side,
the entire face of the side changed and the team was able to win more games.
One gets the sense that on South African tracks, Bollinger will make a lot of
difference to the side and could just be the player to look out for.
