The Chepauk in Chennai will host the 37th game of the IPL between the Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings on 6th of April. The Chennai Super
Kings are languishing at the second-last position but they will know that a couple
of successive wins could take them to the top four as well, and this is the game
that they will need to start it from.
Mumbai Indians are sitting really pretty in the points table. They have won
six out of their seven games in the tournament so far, and another win or two
would make their place in the semi final a surety. However, they also need to
guard against some complacency that could set in and cause havoc later in the
tournament.
Click for Live Score Card of Chennai Super Kings Vs Mumbai IndiansFor one, Mumbai need to look at the form of Kieron Pollard. He has been
the costliest player of the tournament so far, but hasn't scored too many runs.
This means that while the side is winning, it is okay and they are carrying
him along, but it could just become a problem if the side begins to lose the
games. Personally, I still believe that the side could play him for one more
game in the hope that he finds his touch, but he running on thin ice now.
Amongst the bowlers, the side has done their job so far, and it remains to
be seen whether they can continue bowling as well as they have in the tournament.
Of course, there has been a bad day or two for them, but that does not take
away the fact that the Mumbai Indians bowling attack is one of the least-changed
one, consisting of Ryan McLaren, Zaheer Khan, Dwayne Bravo, Lasith Malinga
and Harbhajan Singh.
As compared to that, Chennai is struggling with its bowling. Albie Morkel has
conceded runs by a million and the rest of them except the two spinners, have
been equally bad. However, the good news for Dhoni and his side is that the
Australians have arrived and will see the pair of Michael Hussey and
Doug Bollinger being a part of the side.
One gets the sense that Albie Morkel may be made to sit out of the game
and Bollinger will take his place in the side, but how would Bollinger cope
with the heat of Chennai, remains to be seen.
Hussey, on the other hand, may not get a chance to play in the game immediately.
