With two matches to be played in the Indian Premier League on Thursday,
Chennai Super Kings will take on Pune Warriors later in the evening.
The two teams have clashed earlier in the tournament with Pune Warriors coming
out as the winners.
Chennai Super Kings, the defending champions, have alternated between victory
and defeat, and currently have two wins from five matches that leaves them rather
precariously placed. In their last match, against Pune Warriors, they lost in
the final over by seven wickets. Faf du Plessis and Ravindra Jadeja scored valuable
40+ runs each but overall MS Dhoni's captaincy was under the scanner for decisions
that bemused many experts. Big-hitting Albie Morkel and Dwayne Bravo arrived
at the crease with only one over remaining while Dhoni and Suresh Raina struggled
to push the scoring rate in the middle overs. With the bowl, Yo Mahesh was given
the final over when Bravo, although expensive, could have utilized his experience
of death bowling better. Dhoni will be looking to address these concerns to restore
some confidence into his side.

Pune Warriors slumped to a shocking defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore
on Tuesday. After setting up a mammoth 182 for six, the bowlers failed to stem
the flow of runs in the final overs to hand Bangalore a last-ball victory. Questions
were asked off Sourav Ganguly as well for persisting with Ashish Nehra
whose four overs cost 54 runs, and not bowling Marlon Samuels further after his
two overs produced just five runs. With the bat, Robin Uthappa looked good while
Jesse Ryder and Samuels have also been in rich striking form. Ganguly has also
criticized the reporting of Samuels' action and could possibly land him in trouble.
The match will be played in Chennai where the team in yellow kits can expect plenty
of support.
