Pride and courage will be at stake when the leaders of the IPL Chennai Superkings lock horn with the ever impressive Delhi Daredevils in the IPL tournament this coming Friday 2nd of May at The Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Both these sides have made impressive starts to this tourney and much will be at stake when they clash up against each other in the searing heat in Chennai.

Chennai Superkings have undoubtedly been the star team of this championship thus yet notching victories after victories enroute an impressive twelve points from twelve. Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been well worth the massive $1.5 million spent on him as he has transferred his Indian cricket team captaining skills into this bonanza with much pomp and ease. Chennai have one of the most balanced line ups in the tournament and the fact that off spinner Muttiah Muralitharan is yet to get a game is an indication of the strength in the ranks of the Southern warhorses. A primarily left handed batting line up has helped them keep up the pace with the likes of Matthew Hayden and Mike Hussey in prime form. It will be interesting to see how they can cope up after the Aussie southpaws take the next flight to the Caribbean for their tour but given the quality of the reserve batsmen in the team in the form of Stephen Fleming, Suresh Raina and Parthiv Patel, the Superkings look well settled to strike rich in their remaining matches. Chennai come into this match on the back of a narrow victory over Bangalore. Mahendra Singh Dhoni's blazing 65 proved to be the difference between the two sides as he tore apart a Bangalore attack which had been consistent till then. The Chennai outfit are on a roll with four victories out of four thus yet and will be eyeing for a fifth win this time around.

Delhi Daredevils on the other hand, have slipped up a bit but a recent ten run victory against Bangalore will help their cause. Delhi's batting primarily relies on the big hitting exploits of Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag atop the line up while Manoj Tewary has been a real pillar of strength in the middle order. The Delhi outfit have won three out of their four clashes thus yet with the only loss coming against an inform Punjab outfit. There will be no shortage of incentive either as a win will see them rank up the order at the expense of their opponents. Delhi were lucky last time around when Bangalore slipped up late on toe hand them a ten run victory. Much of the credit for the collapse should however be given to Aussie fast bowler Glenn McGrath who picked up the first four wicket haul of this series last time around. McGrath has been impressive all summer despite being out of competitive cricket for over a year and the wily old Australian pacemen will have a lot to contribute if Delhi are to put an end to the Chennai juggernaut this coming Friday.
