It will be the battle of the Champions when Chennai Superkings come up
against Rajasthan Royals in their IPL league encounter this coming Saturday
in the Indian Premier League. Both these sides are already through to the semifinals
and bragging rights will be on the stake when the Superkings come up against the
Royals this weekend.

Rajasthan Royals have been a complete revelation this tournament and some of
their cricket has been nothing but praiseworthy. Shane Warne has indeed
put together a bunch of talented players and converted them into total superstars
with his acute planning and strategy. The likes of Yusuf Pathan and Shane Watson
have been a real revelation and much of their success has been attributed to
the performances of Watson and Pathan up the order. Other notable performers
include newcomer Asnodkar from Goa and the South African skipper Greame Smith
both of whom have been impressive at the top of the order. Rajasthan come into
this clash on the back of a smashing victory against a despairing Knightriders
last time around. In a match that held no consequence on their qualifying status
for the semifinals, a smashing innings for Yusuf Pathan proved to be the difference
between the two sides and his innings of 48 from sixteen balls will do his confidence
a world of good. The Royals have won nine of their eleven matches and will be
hoping to move to another level with a win against Chennai Superkings this time
around.
Like Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Superkings have been in fine fettle of late
and a victory against the Kolkata Knightriders in their previous clash
saw them through to the semi finals. The Superkings have won eight of their
twelve matches so far and have recovered well from the loss of Matthew Hayden
and Mike Hussey who departed midway to their respective national duties. Chennai
Superkings will also be happy with the recent form of Makhaya Ntini who became
the third bowler in the IPL after Amit Mishra and Balaji to pick up a hit-track
when his 4-21 helped the Superkings restrict the Knightriders to a smallish
total last time around. While this fixture holds no consequence on the way the
table shapes up, Chennai Superkings will be hoping to secure bragging rights
and ensure confidence before they enter the semi finals of the IPL.
