It will be the battle of two teams with opposite momentums when Deccan Chargers
take on Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League this coming Sunday.

The Mumbai Indians come into this clash on the back of a stunning victory over
the Kolkata Knightriders last time around. In one of the most one-sided
matches this summer, a superb spell of fast bowling from the likes of Dwayne
Bravo and Shaun Pollock reduced the Knightriders to tatters before they eventually
collapsed to a miserable 67. That target was never going to be an issue for
the Indians as they reached home with over fifteen overs remaining. One of the
biggest improvements in the Mumbai Indians line up has been their batting with
the likes of Sanath Jayasurya and Robin Uthappa coming good when it mattered
the most. Sanath Jayasurya in particular has been brilliant so far notching
up one of the fastest centuries in 20-20 cricket and with the return of Sachin
Tendulkar, the Mumbai Indians look to be in line for a yet another victory,
their sixth in a row over the Deccan Chargers this time around.
The Deccan Chargers have had a miserable tournament so far firing blanks in
all departments despite having a star-studded line up. The likes of Gibbs and
Afridi have not showed up at all while the absence of Andrew Symonds has made
it all the more difficult for the team from Hyderabad. The bowling that was
weak from the beginning is getting ripped apart with ease and things certainly
look glum for the Deccan Chargers. The Deccan Chargers have given away a massive
390 runs in their last two outings and the lack of a proper pace attack is hurting
them bigtime. Deccan are already out of semifinal contention having lost eight
of their ten matches winning just two and only pride will be on the line when
they come up against the Mumbai Indians. However, with millions spent on the
franchise and it's players, the Deccan outfit will be hoping for a substantial
return in the form of good performances and while they may be out of future
qualification scope, they will be eager to prove their worth when they take
the field against the Mumbai Indians in Hyderabad this coming Sunday 18th May
2008.
