Delhi Daredevils get ready to face Chennai Daredevils for the second time in just under four days at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium this coming Thursday. Delhi and Chennai have both slipped up points in their recent few matches and will be hoping to come level on points with Rajasthan Royals with a spanking win this coming Thursday in a match of guts and glory at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium.

After a run of four straight wins, Delhi slipped up in their last match against Mumbai losing badly after restricting them for a smallish total. However, the usually strong Delhi batting line up came up unstuck against a mediocre outfit to slip up and lost the clash. Delhi are second in the table with four wins and much of their success has been attributed to a strong batting line up of Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and Ab De Villiers who have more of ten than not given them a strong start. Prior to their defeat against Mumbai, Delhi daredevils defeated their opponents of this clash by a convincing six wickets. Virender Sehwag was the star with the bat with a thirty ball seventy one and with the likes of Glenn McGrath and Mohammad Asif in flying form with the ball, Delhi will be odds on favourite to repeat that feat against the Chennai Superkings this time around.

Chennai Superkings on the other hand have fluttered big time since winning their first four matches. A loss to Delhi started a low spur for the Chennai outfit and they have slipped to even lower heights even since. The Chennai Superkings have lost their last three matches against the Delhi Daredevils, Rajasthan Royals and the Deccan Chargers and much of their failures has been attributed to a rather poor batting performance. Since losing Matthew Hayden and Mike Hussey to national duties, the Chennai Superkings no longer remain the invincible batting attack they were at the beginning of the tourney. However, a team possessing batsmen of the likes of Stephen Fleming, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Suresh Raina can still cause trouble for the best in business and that is exactly what the Chennai Superkings will be aiming to do. On the bowling front, the Chennai Superkings still remain a competitive force with Muttaih Muralitharan showing glimpses of how effective he can be in the shortest version of the game. Young prospect Gony has also raised the attention of the selectors and the GMR group which owns Chennai will be hoping for a spirited performance from those two when they come up against Delhi Daredevils this coming Thursday 8th of March 2008 at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi.
