The Delhi Daredevils will take on the Kings XI Punjab in the 26th
game of the Indian Premier League at Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi. The two
sides have had contrasting fortunes in the IPL this season and while one team
will be happy with the way that they have played, the other team will look forward
to overcome the dwindling chances that the side has.
Delhi have played four games and have won only one of them. Their only win came
against Pune but more importantly, it did not come at home; they have lost all
the remaining games and that puts the pressure on them to perform.

The reason why the side has struggled at home is simply because the side has not
been able to get their bowling right on those Delhi tracks. At the best of the
times, the pitches in Delhi are much slower and lower than the rest of them around
the country and that is the reason why the teams prefer to go into the games with
an army of slower bowlers.
However, the problem that Delhi has is that they are without any frontline spinners
- they had only the inexperienced likes of Yogesh Nagar and S Nadeem, both of
whom can be hit out of the park very easily. This does mean that the Daredevils
will have to strategise differently - probably even get the pitch to change its
colours.
That is exactly what they are doing. They have decided to change the pitch conditions
- they are going to unveil a wicket which will have grass on it and play in this
game against Punjab. This will mean that the likes of Morne Morkel and
Ashok Dinda could have a good chance of making the ball talk in this game.
Sehwag needs to find his touch with the bat. He hasn't been getting too many runs
and that has meant that the side has struggled at the top of the innings, dependent
solely on Dave Warner.
On the other hand, Punjab has been the team to watch out for. They have had a
an amazing run in the tournament, having won three of their four games which means
that the side will now look to go to the top of the table with their fourth win.
Punjab has Paul Vathaty and Adam Gilchrist at the top and with Shaun Marsh
coming back to form, they will be favourites in this game.
