It will be a do or die affair for the Daredevils when they come up against the Mumbai Indians at the Feroz Saha Kotla this coming Saturday. The Delhi Daredevils have it all to do after rain disrupted their previous clash against the Mumbai Indians and are now in a precarious situation. Even a win may not guarantee them a place in the semi finals and the Delhi Daredevils will be hoping to put all their worries behind when they clash up against the Mumbai outfit this time around.

The Delhi Daredevils come into this clash on the fourth position in the IPL league table with thirteen points from thirteen matches and need Mumbai Indians to slip up in their last two matches to have any chance of qualification. A victory here coupled with a slip up for the Chennai Superkings will also play into their hands and they will be keeping their fingers crossed going into this clash with Mumbai. Delhi were unlucky last time around against the Kolkata Knightriders when they could only secure a solitary point at home against the Knightriders as rain stopped proceedings before it could even start. Delhi will be relying heavily on Gautam Gambhir for this clash and will hope that skipper Virender Sehwag and AB De Villiers can hang around to give the Southpaw good company. Gambhir is the current holder of the orange cup with the highest aggregate of runs in the tournament and much of Delhi's batting fortunes will depend upon his form and touch. Glenn McGrath will be playing his last match in the Indian Premier League and with Mohammad Asif out with an injury much will depend on the premium Aussie paceman if Delhi were to pace through to the semi finals.

On the other hand, Mumbai are in a much safer situation and need just two wins out of their last three matches to secure a semi-final spot for themselves. Mumbai saw their six match-winning streak disrupted last time around against the Kings XI Punjab outfit when they crashed down to a one run loss. A mix-up in the very last ball of the innings spoiled it all for the Mumbai Indians after they looked all set to wrap up the match. However, Mumbai Indians have shown signs of resilience and improvement all throughout the tournament and in Sanath Jayasurya and Sachin Tendulkar, they have the finest opening partnership around in the IPL. Jayasurya in particular has looked to be at his devastating best in recent matches smashing up twenty two sixes in his last four matches and much of Mumbai's success in their last seven matches can be attributed to the power hitting of the Sri Lankan veteran. The bowling is on the shaky side and the absence of Dwayne Bravo is sorely felt by the Mumbai Indians. With no one to form an effective partnership with Shaun Pollock up the order, the Mumbai Indians will know that a strong batting performance is imperative to success and they will be hoping to do exactly that when they come up against the Delhi Daredevils at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium this coming Saturday in the Indian Premier League.
