England will play Ireland in the 15th game of the Cricket World Cup 2011
at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. England has already played
two games in the tournament so far and has won one and tied the other one. On
the other hand, Ireland goes into the game with one game against Bangladesh under
their belt and have lost it.
England will have bitter-sweet experiences in the tournament so far. Their
batting has been excellent and their bowling has been appalling. In the first
game against Netherlands, the bowling and fielding were so bad that even the
Associate side went on to score 292 in their 50 overs thanks to the Ryan ten
Doeschate's century.

The English batsmen then went on to chase that down thanks to some concerted
effort from Andrew Strauss and Jonathon Trott.
Against India, the bowling was depleted by the absence of Stuart Broad. Broad's
injury meant that the Indians were able to get going and scored 332 in their
50 overs before a 150 from Andrew Strauss ensured that the English team managed
to tie the game.
Ireland's start has been indifferent as well. They had a decent start with
the ball and the Bangladeshis struggled against the medium pace of Andre Botha
and the rest of them. George Dockrell was another of the highly economical bowlers.
However, when it came to batting, it was only the O Niall brothers who got
going with 37 and 38 respectively. None of the others could score too many and
the pace of Shafiul Islam was too hot to handle for the side towards the end
of the innings. He had ended with four wickets.
The player to watch out for the English will be Trott and Ian Bell. Trott has
been in a good form and Bell has shown that he is getting there into the top
gear. If the two can get going apart from having an in form Andrew Strauss and
a Kevin Pietersen who could open up with aggression, the Irish bowlers will
struggle.
On the other hand, they will hope that the bowling will be strengthened if
Broad can make a comeback. The bowler was injured thanks to a stomach ailment
and will look to bowl his short stuff to take on the Irish.
On the other hand, Ireland will look to the likes of Ed Joyce, who has
played for England as well, to get going with the bat in order to shore up the
Ireland team.
