England's bowling in the last two games has been a cause for concern. Why would
it not be. After all they would be going into the game with one bowler who is
making a comeback after a shoddy World Cup in James Anderson, there is another
bowler, Stuart Broad, who has lost his form and is under pressure from
the fans, a third in Jade Dernbach, who is playing in his debut series and a
fourth Tim Bresnan, who is making a comeback from injury. Hardly a recipe for
a good bowling attack.
On the other hand, Sri Lanka will be looking to ensure that the pair
of Lasith Malinga and Suranga Lakmal can continue picking up the wickets
and throttling the runs. they have made things difficult for the opponents and
it will be no different in the fourth ODI - the English will need to find a
way out. What has obviously helped Sri Lanka even more is that in the middle
order they have not been able to get the Lankan spinners way for too many and
that has led to the side to struggle in the middle of the innings.
The England-Sri Lanka 4th ODI live can be seen on Star Cricket in India and on
Sky Sports in UK. The England-Sri Lanka 4th ODI highlights will be shown on the
same channels on July 7.
Looking at the team's batting, the English side has done well in all the three
games, except that in the third, they had to rely on their captain Alastair Cook. The news will be good for Cook, who managed to get back to form, but
Kevin Pietersen's lack of runs and with the likes of Eoin Morgan also not getting
too many, it has become difficult for the side.
Sri Lanka had a new run-scorer in Dinesh Chandimal after Mahela Jayawardene
had found his form in the series with a century in the second ODI. They will
be favourites to win it 3-1.
