The 46th game of the IPL will see the Deccan Chargers play the Royal Challengers Bangalore at Nagpur. For the Chargers, this is a must-win game
as they need to win all their games from hereon to secure their place in the semi-finals.
On the other hand, for the Bangalore side as well, they need to win in this match,
to ensure that they enter the semi-finals. In the previous game between the two
sides, the Deccan had overcome the Royal Challengers thanks to a blazing knock
by T Suman and Andrew Symonds.

they need Adam Gilchrist to find his touch in the tournament. Because,
Gilly had started off rather well, but then has gone on to struggle for the
runs; making heavy weather of scoring off the slower bowlers who have opened
the bowling. This has not allowed him to get away and that has led to the issues
that his side has faced.
In fact, it would be worthwhile for him to push around and collect the singles
and ask his partner to go after the bowling instead. This will ensure that he
gets his eye in, does not get out early, and allow the team to feel good about
his presence in the middle.
Mitchell Marsh was selected in that Bangalore game and it was a baptism by
fire debut for the younger Mitchell Marsh. He struggled with the ball,
and was taken to cleaners, but he looks to have good action and could very well
be a player to reckon with.
The Bangalore side had made a mistake in the middle of the tournament by trying
to change things when they were winning. The worst was when they dropped Dale Steyn for a game and took in an extra batsman in his place and thus made
life difficult for the bowling department. Since then, except in the one game
against Punjab, they have not been able to make the necessary inroads and that
has caused them much problem.
For a side which was winning all the games and were at the top of the table,
this would have come as a surprise, as they are now struggling to get to the
semi-finals.
Kumble will need to come out with a better strategy now, than to bowl bouncers
at the batsmen or to start with a spinner. Instead, he could look at introducing
a new face in the bowling department; someone like a Roelof van der Merwe.
