Nagpur will be the new host as the Deccan Chargers will face the Rajasthan Royals for the 36th match of the IPL. It is the only game of the day and will
need the Chargers to win the match if they want to harbour any hopes of making
it to the semi-finals. Rajasthan are on eight points and a win for them would
mean that their chances of getting to the knock-out stage will be that much greater.
Rajasthan would be stung by their loss to Delhi. It was one of the more one-sided
games and that was despite both, Virender Sehwag and Dave Warner failing
to score, and Gambhir not getting to fifty. But what would have hurt them even
more would be Gambhir's comments after the game got over.

Pathan, the other guys were pretty ordinary. We thought Yusuf was the only danger-man
and didn't bother too much about anyone else" Of course, the Delhi captain
had been reprimanded, but the job was done.
It remains to be seen how Shane Warne tries to overcome this latest
jibe fired at him by an Indian cricketer, after earlier, the wicket-keeper Dinesh
Karthik had got into a trouble with the captain of Rajasthan.
Warne is a shrewd guy and would understand, this is a part of the strategy
to undermine him in the tournament. And he would not want to get too bothered
about the same and concentrate on the game on hand instead, making it easier
for the players in his side as well.
Of course, against the Deccan Chargers, they would know that they had won the
previous game in the tournament against the same side and hence will need to
only apply their basics through Adam Voges, Michael Lumb and Yusuf Pathan.
Talking of the Chargers, they have been going through a bad phase, having lost
three successive games to Mumbai, Kolkata and Rajasthan and will need to get
back to their winning ways. Another loss here and their ouster from the tournament
would almost be certain.
This would also mean that the captain Adam Gilchrist will need to really
get going with his bat. After all, he has been failing far too regularly for
anyone's comfort and that would mean that the side has come under pressure down
the order. The manner in which Andrew Symonds batted the other day against the
Knight Riders was also something that would tell the Chargers that the batsmen
have not been batting too freely, and much of that has to do with the bad bowling
allowing the opposition to get away with huge totals.
