The fifth season of the Indian Premier League will see two matches being
played on Tuesday. The second of the two matches involves Deccan Chargers and Kings XI Punjab, with the match to be played in Hyderabad.
The match is expected to be a low interest affair given the poor form both
sides have been in lately. The situation is nearly fatal for the Deccan Chargers
who, after 11 matches, have only five points and are all but assured of not
qualifying for the playoffs.

They were at the shocking end of a defeat to Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday
evening as a match that seemed in their pocket slipped out in the last three overs.
Defending a competitive 181, Dale Steyn's over went for 22 runs and changed the
story altogether.
The batsmen will look to do their routine job with Shikhar Dhawan and
Cameron White seeing their hard efforts go to waste each time. The bowlers need
to buck up after four of the six bowlers used went for over ten runs per over.
Kings XI Punjab seemed to have some momentum going their way before Rajasthan
Royals halted that on Saturday. The defeat leaves Kings XI with ten points and
five matches to play. Another defeat would make their chances of qualification
increasingly difficult.
The team will rely on Shaun Marsh to lead the batting effort while Azhar
Mahmood's all-round capabilities will also be expected to deliver the goods.
Ryan Harris did well with the ball, picking up four wickets but captain David
Hussey must be bothered by his own form. In addition, the team is missing the
services of their regular captain Adam Gilchrist and that is hurting
them badly.
Deccan Chargers will be playing in front of their home crowd on Tuesday and it
remains to be seen whether they can register a win against a team other than Pune
Warriors this season or not.
