India get set to lock horns with World Champions Australia
in the first of a highly memorable CB series this coming Sunday at the
SCG. Both the teams deserve their place in the finals with some scintillating
cricket so far and while Sydney pays homage to one of the finest cricketers
ever to grace the willow, the scene is set for some explosive fireworks to rip
off when India and Australia take the stage this Sunday.

India have been right on the heels of the World Champions despite
combating a series of injuries, misfortunes and some forgettable umpiring decisions.
A excellent test series was followed by a fine one day series thus yet and team
India will be happy for one last salvo to cap off a marvelous series. India's
route to the final has been rather comfortable not least due to Sri Lanka's
lackluster performances and the likes of Ishant Sharma and Gautam Gambhir have
really stood up to the task so far. India will be going into this clash boasting
of the finest batsman and bowler in this series and things certainly look bright
for the men in blue. India lost three matches in the group stages while winning
three and it must be noted that all the three matches lost by India were close
shavers that could have gone either way. Sreesanth is expected to replace the
disappointing Munaf Patel for this clash while skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni
is expected not to mess around with the batting line up that has stood firm
in this series. Gautam Gambhir will open the innings and India will be hoping
that the Southpaw can become the first non Australian batsman to register three
centuries in a series in Australia. The likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj
however have not been in pine form and much is expected from the former especially
given the fact that this would be his last game in Sydney, a ground that he
showered with runs over the recent past.
Australia on the other hand, have showed signs that their iron hold over World
Cricket is slipping up and will need to put up a much better batting performance
than they put up against Sri Lanka last Friday. Chasing a modest target of 221,
Australia slipped up form 107/0 to lose by a considerable margin and any slip
ups in this match is expected to be dealt with harsher punishment for a much
sharper Indian outfit. The likes of Ricky Pointing, Michael Clarke, Mike Hussey
and Andrew Symonds gave found the going tough so far this series and much will
be expected from them this time around in Sydney. However, the good news for
the Australians is that Adam Gilcrhist is in the mood to make the most out of
his last few cricketing opportunities and his form so far this series has been
splendid. Gilcrhist has played at better than run a ball all series and will
be hoping to make the best out of his last ever cricket match in Sydney.
Much talk has been made about the on going war of words between the India and
Australian cricket teams with the likes of Ishant Sharma and Harbhajan Singh
willing to throw back the bricks piled up them. With all the pre match talk
made between the two best teams of world cricket, this final promises to be
