India will play South Africa in the third and the final ODI of the series at Ahmedabad. The Indians have already won the series 2-0 and will look to experiment a little with their side, and the South Africans may also want to do the same, but will also like to go back home with at least one win to their name.

For starters, there is no way one cannot talk about the maestro Sachin Tendulkar. He had got run-out in the first game thanks to moment of madness, but he more than compensated for it in the second ODI with that double century. What could be worse for the South Africans is that he had already sounded out that he would like to bat for another fifty overs and see whether he can retain the fitness levels, which means that he will try his best to repeat a big hundred in the third ODI.

It also depends on whether he is allowed to play by the management or whether the management thinks that he has done his bit for the series and can easily be allowed some rest. In that case, it will, in all probabilities, allow his Mumbai team-mate, Abhishek Nayar to replace him in the squad. In all probabilities, Dinesh Karthik will then open the innings, and Virat Kohli should then bat at number three for India.

Amongst the bowlers, there is a good chance that Ashish Nehra will be afforded some rest and Sudeep Tyagi will be allowed a game. Tyagi has had two or three really good games under his belt and bowling against South Africa will be an experience by itself.

As compared to that, the South African side seems to have gone off the boil since that Dale Steyn spell in the first Test and will look to overcome their bowling woes. In fact, both, Steyn and Wayne Parnell had woeful bowling figures, and it does seem like one of them could be given a break and Morne Morkel being called in. Lonwobo Tsotsobe is another bowler who could do with a chance and with Charl Langeveldt injured due to his issue with the eye, he would definitely be called up to bowl. In fact, he is the only player in the squad apart from Morne to have not got a game, and one does get a sense that he will get to play the match.
