The Indian cricket team will be determined to avenge for the abandonment
of their previous group game clash against Sri Lanka with a thumping victory over
Sri Lanka in the second round of CB Series matches, a victory that would indeed
go a long way in determining India's future prospects in this series. India are
currently two points ahead of the Sri lanka's courtesy of their two drawn matches
and with form on their sides, they will be determined to strike it into their
Lankan rivals this time around.

The Indian batting order has been given a big boost by the return to form of
skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni coupled with the marvelous touch of inform
Gautam Gambhir. Gambhir in particular has been brilliant all tour and
will be hoping to repeat his exploits with the bat once again this time around.
Gambhir was instrumental is setting up a score of 267 for Sri Lanka to scale
down in their last clash and the future does augur well for this Delhi southpaw.
The Indian bowling attack will be retained in its originality given their lack
of match workout so far in Australia and with Ishant Sharma and Sreesanth impressing
in whatever little time they have been given, the Indian bowling attack does
seem to be in safe hands for now.
In stark contrast, Sri Lanka come into this clash after a torrid batting
performance against the Australians last time around. Under seaming conditions
in Sydney, the Sri Lankan batting line up collapsed like a back of cards and
only a defiant forty two from Kumara Sangakarra helped them cross the
century mark in that clash. However, there is talent in abundance in the Sri
Lankan ranks and with veterans Muttiah Muralitharan and Sanath Jayasurya
making their last trip down under, the Emerald nation will be hoping to pull
up a victory against India this coming Tuesday 12th of February to give themselves
any chance of progressing through to the finals of this annual triseries cricketing
bonanza in Australia.
