 The fifth season of the Indian Premier League will see two matches being
played on Sunday. The first of the two matches involves Pune Warriors and
Rajasthan Royals, with the match to be played in Jaipur. Both sides have had a
far from impressive run lately, with only Rajasthan Royals in the hunt
for the playoffs.
Rajasthan Royals have six wins from 13 matches, a tally of 12 points that sees
them in sixth place on the points table. Their loss to Chennai Super Kings in
the last match though has again left them precariously placed as they need to
win to remain on course. The batsmen will know what is expected from them after
a rare failure from them yielded in a paltry total of 126. Rahul Dravid,
the captain, would be worried with his own form as well after making it a hat-trick
of failures. Ajinkya Rahane, Shane Watson and Brad Hodge are the key
weapons with the bat while the bowlers will be hoping to have some more to play
with in order to give the likes of Shaun Tait and Watson a realistic chance.

Pune Warriors succumbed to their seventh defeat in a row as they were comprehensively
outplayed by Royal Challengers Bangalore on Friday. With just four wins so far,
they are already out of the running for the playoffs and questions are being
raised about Sourav Ganguly's competence, both as a player and as a captain,
in the shortest format of the game. His bowlers have often looked out of control
with Michael Clarke, of all the bowlers, being the most economical bowler
in the last three matches. The batting has also failed to fire with only Robin Uthappa providing some notable contributions as Marlon Samuels' absence
has left a huge gap in the batting order.
The match will be played in Jaipur starting at 4.00pm local time.
