 With action in the fifth season of the Indian Premier League already underway,
the teams are eagerly awaiting to play their first matches. Day two of the tournament
will see Delhi Daredevils lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders,
as teams with contrasting stories look to start on a winning note.

Kolkata Knight Riders, the second-most valuable team in the IPL, will look to
better their record from last year where they finished fourth, after a miserable
run in the first three seasons.
Gautam Gambhir will lead the side and expressed hope that his revamped side can
make an impact in the tournament the way its fans would like to see. While Shah
Rukh Khan, one of the owners of the team, has tasted success as well as failure
on the box office, the cricketing field presents him another opportunity to redeem
himself.
The team has been bolstered by the news of West Indies' Sunil Narine
becoming available for the entire tournament, after initially it was rumored
that he may be selected in the test squad for matches against Australia. However,
a lack of a central contract has landed him in India where the Knight Riders
bought him for $700,000.
Delhi Dardevils started off as a strong unit but finished bottom of the table
last season and new signings are reflective of the change in fortune that they
are seeking.
Captained by Virender Sehwag, the Daredevils will be expecting plenty
of fireworks up the order with Travis Birt and Colin Ingram expected to take
the lead while their other stars are busy on international duty. Irfan Pathan
has plenty of expectations attached to him after the management dished out a
$1.9 million deal to him last year.
Eden Gardens in Kolkata is expected to draw a sizable crowd for the match as Knight
Riders will be hoping to make a winning start at home. The match starts at 8.00pm
local time.
