The Mumbai Indians will take on the Delhi Daredevils in the 47th game of
the IPL at the Brabourne Stadium. The Mumbai Indians are sitting pretty
at 14 points, knowing that they need to win only one game to go through to the
semi-finals, but they will know that they cannot just afford to be complacent
and that they need to get back to their winning ways. Delhi, on the other hand,
too have their necessary wins, but are not yet sure of a semi-finals berth as
they will look to win a couple of the games to secure their spot in the knock-out.
Click for Live Score Card of Mumbai Indians Vs Delhi DaredevilsMumbai Indians had had a nice winning streak, having won 7 out of the 8 games
that they had played in, but suddenly there are question-marks been asked off
their last couple of losses. They first lost to the Chennai Super Kings and
then went down to the lowly Kings XI Punjab; which means that the pressure will
be on them to make the move. Of course, the problem that they are facing is
that the top-order heavily depends on Sachin Tendulkar to perform and
if Tendulkar has failed or has not got a necessary start, then, the Mumbai Indians
have seen to struggle.
Against the Delhi Daredevils, there is a good chance that the Mumbai Indians
may want to shuffle things around a tad. It is really surprising to see that
Abhishek Nayar has not been afforded a chance yet, and what was more
surprising was that when Zaheer Khan was injured against the Chennai team, the
cap went to Abu Nechim and not to someone experienced like a Dhawal Kulkarni.
The Delhi Daredevils will be waiting for their prey. In the last game between
the two sides, the Delhi side were routed after Gambhir suffered from that hamstring
injury. Now, despite T Dilshan not been a part of the team after suffering from
bladder stones, the rest of the side has gelled rather well; Paul Collingwood
and Dave Warner have come good in the top and the middle order and that has
allowed the side to get away with the lack of form for Sehwag and Gambhir.
It will also depend on the Delhi bowling to turn the screws, unlike last time,
when they had allowed the Mumbai batsmen to get going. One almost gets the sense
that Ashish Nehra and Dirk Nannes, both, need to play this game and get
some rhythm going before they enter the semi-finals, or it could get rather
difficult for them
