New Zealand will be hoping to make up for a disappointing loss
in the second test against England when they host the English in the
third test in Naiper. England's victory in Wellington last time around has put
the series nicely poised at 1-1 and New Zealand will be hoping that they
can cap off a fine month with a victory in the third test.

New Zealand landed with a thud in the second test match after
handing England a comprehensive thumping in the first test match. While the
bowling was effective, the batting left a lot to be desired as they collapsed
on the face of some fine swing bowling by the likes of James Anderson and Ryan
Sidebottom. Only Daniel Vettori and Mccullum emerged with some respect
from a tough test match and much more will be expected from the New Zealand
batting line up this time around. Stephen Fleming will bid adieu to international
cricket after this clash and the former New Zealand skipper will be hoping to
add another feather to his already heavy cap with a match winning innings in
Naiper that could see New Zealand register their first series victory over England
in over a decade. Tim Southee, the 19-year-old quick bowler, has been added
to New Zealand's squad for the deciding Test against England, in Napier, on
Saturday. He is the only addition to the party, which otherwise remains the
same despite New Zealand's 126-run defeat in Wellington.
England on the other hand will be buoyed with their victory after coming in
for some harsh criticism following their loss in Hamilton. The likes of Anderson
and Sidebottom justified their inclusion with five wicket hauls in either innings
and the English attack looks potent all of a sudden. England will also be pleased
with the form of keeper Tim Ambrose who has stood up firm to the test and his
century last time around in Naiper will certainly give the English batting much
confidence going into this clash. Kevin Pietersen has been due for runs all
summer and he will be hoping to stem the recent rot in his averages with a fine
knock this time around as England look to complete a remarkable recovery by
wining the third test in Naiper starting on the 22nd March 2008.
