England and New Zealand get ready to lock horns in this
potentially series deciding clash at Napier this coming Sunday. England fought
off the skeptics to come up with a superb six wicket victory over New Zealand
in the third one dayer of the five match series, and although New Zealand lead
the series 2-1 the momentum appears to be in England's favour when these two
Commonwealth sides get ready to lock horns in the fourth one Dayer.

England put up a polished performance to level the series 2-1
after two of their worst One Day displays in recent times in the first two matches.
England will be encouraged by the performance at both ends of the pitch
and the performance of the middle order in particular. Jimmy Anderson was the
star of the bowling attack as he combined well with Stuart Broad to reduce the
New Zealand side to an unsavory 95/6 at one point of time and despite a late
flourish from the New Zealand tail, it was still a bowling performance infinitely
better than England's hour of shame in the previous match at Hamilton. The batting
front has also seen improvements and while the real star of the innings was
Paul Collingwood with a well compiled 70, performances from Dimitri Mascarenhas
and Ian Bell will leave England confident of leveling the series when the fourth
one dayer starts this Sunday.
New Zealand will be disappointed to lose the lead after having
England on the floor in the first two matches. Old problems continue to haunt
the Kiwis and their batting still leaves a lot to be desired against top class
bowling attacks. The void left by the departures of Craig McMillan and
Stephen Fleming are still evident and the Kiwis need to hope for better performances
from the opening duo of Jamie How and Ross Taylor if they are to give themselves
an even shot of outclassing England this Sunday. The bowling however, will be
strengthened by the return of skipper Daniel Vettori after injury and
his presence will lend solidity to a young upcoming New Zealand bowling attack.
New Zealand cricket is in a phase of renewal and rejunvation after a period
of considerable growth and will be hoping to accelerate the growth with a victory
over New Zealand this coming Sunday 16th February at Napier.
