The one-off T20I between West Indies and Pakistan will be played on
April 21 at the Beausejour Cricket Ground in Gros Islet.
This is the first game on the tour that Pakistan has undertaken on West Indies which will also contain five ODIs and two Test matches and will go
all the way up to the May 24.
West Indies go into this series with a purpose to rebuild the team. Not too many
senior player from the World Cup squad have been selected and the hope is that
the West Indian team will be able to put up a good show for the fans.

The selectors have dropped the likes of Chris Gayle, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Shivnarine
Chanderpaul and in a surprising move, even the pair of Dwayne Bravo and Kieron
Pollard are not playing in this one-off T20 game. Bravo was not selected whereas
Pollard is currently in India playing for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL.
This gives the side a very new look. While Darren Sammy continues to
be their captain, the others are relatively new. The spinners have been let
go off as well and Devendra Bishoo makes an entry into the side. So does the
spin of Ashley Nurse.
There is an all-rounder in Christopher Barnwell and the batting will be in the
hands of Darren Bravo and Marlon Samuels. Samuels make a re-entry into the squad
after he was earlier banned by the ICC for his involvement in match fixing and
that will mean that the side will have a sea of youngsters.
Some of the others in the squad who may not get a chance are Danza Hyatt and Krishmar
Santokie, both of whom are a part of the dressing room for the first time in the
international cricket.
For Pakistan, Shahid Afridi had wanted to rest in the tour but was forced
to be a part. This meant that the side will now be led by him and will have
some other youngsters being a part. One hopes that one would get to see the
likes of Junaid Khan and Hammad Azam, with Mohammad Salman expected to be the
new keeper in the team.
The two teams had recently played in the World Cup quarter-final and Pakistan
were run away winners. West Indies were bowled out for less than 125 and the Pakistanis
got to the score without loss. Time for revenge?
