The Pune Warriors India will take on the Delhi Daredevils in what will be the
16th game of the Indian Premier League this season. The match will be
played at the Dr DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and will need the sides to
ensure that they win the game. And both have different reasons for it.
Delhi Daredevils, for example have had a bad start to the competition.
They do not look like they have the side to get going and that is because they
have let many of their players go away. This means that they will need Virender Sehwag to get a big one and if he does not, then it will be a case of the
others to get going as well.

However, the problem that the Daredevils have is that they have no spinner
of note in the team. This means that when the two sides meet, the Pune Warriors
will know that the oneness in the attack could be a cause for some problem.
Delhi's pace bowling in the first game that they played in the competition consisted
of the likes of Morne Morkel, Ashok Dinda, Irfan pathan and Umesh Yadav and it
took them a game to realise that they were one too many. In the second game of
the tournament that they played, the side did pick up a spinner but it is evident
that the struggle is on.
With Sehwag unfit due to his shoulder injury and not able to bowl the Delhi Daredevils
will be affected badly and will need to get going in some other way. The best
way for that would be for Sehwag to unleash his barrage of strokeplay - he has
had a quiet, little couple of games and that can hardly help the side at the top
of the innings.
Pune have a plethora of batsmen but it is their injury to Graeme Smith that could
be a concern. He will be replaced in all probability given that the side has not
been able to get going too well at the top and that could mean that the pressure
will be on Jesse Ryder to get the runs.
On the other hand, the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Mithun Manhas and Robin
Uthappa will need to get going in the middle of the innings, of a powerful batting
order.
Pune should win this one and if they do they will be the first to make it three
wins in a row.
