run in the inaugural edition of the Indian premier League with a victory at
home over the Delhi Daredevils this coming Sunday 11th of May at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium

Rajasthan Royals have been mightily impressive all throughout the summer and
continued that form with a sublime performance against the Deccan Chargers.
Fielding first, a Shane Warne inspired comeback restricted the Deccan Chargers
to just 140 when they were cruising at 78/1 at the end of ten overs. That target
was soon wiped out by a belligerent Yusuf Pathan as the Rajasthan Royals moved
to the top of the table with six wins and two losses from their eight clashes.
Starting the tournament as underdogs, Rajasthan Royals do posses one of the
most balanced outfits around. The likes of Greame Smith and Yusuf Pathan provide
the fireworks early on which are steadied upon by Shane Watson later on. On
the bowling front, Sohail Tanvir has been a revelation and the six-wicket hero
against Chennai Superkings provided a perfect compliment to the guile of craft
of Captain cum coach Shane Warne. Victory here would put in the drivers seat
for a semi-final qualification and the Rajasthan Royals will be hoping to do
just that against the Delhi Daredevils.
The Delhi Daredevils have lost their way after a fine start of four wins and
a loss in their first five matches, Virender Sehwag outfit have since
lost their last two matches with the last defeat coming in painful circumstances
against the Chennai Superkings. However a victory here will push them back into
semi-final contention and they certainly do posses the team for that. The spine
of the team is a strong one with the likes of Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir
ably supported by Ab De Villiers and Manoj Tiwary. The bowling attack looks
pretty impressive with the mean pair of Glenn McGrath and Mohammad Asif good
enough to cause trouble to most sides. With Greg Chappell in charge of the outfit,
Delhi will be hoping to get back some mental toughness as the look to carve
out a way for the semi-finals with a win against the Rajasthan Royals this coming
Sunday 11th of May 2008 at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur.
