 South Africa were beaten by the awesome Aussies in the first Twenty20I, but they
did bounce back and got a win in the second Twenty20I against Australia
in a very exciting match where hosts seemed clearly out of the competition when
they lost 7 of their batsman relatively very early in the innings.

Now the host South Africa have the mental boost, which is very much
needed before the ODI series. The first ODI between these two titans will be
played in Centurion, October 19 at 12:30 GMT.
The twenty20 were 1-1 draw, so the excitement level for the ODI series is now
more than before. Each team will be dying to win their next ODI clash. Both teams
have brought their experienced ODI specialist.
South Africa's ODI squad includes legendary batsman Jacques Kallis,
swift bowler Dale Steyn, wicket Keeper Mark Boucher who can be very handy with
the bat and spinner Imran Tahir. Skipper Hashim Amla must be trying to
get some runs for this team; he was flop in the twenty20 series. Giving Parnell
a chance in the second match was a good decision, he provided them with a stormy
29 runs only from 11 balls, he also can make the difference too.
Like the Proteus, Aussies have made some changes in their squad. They will
be led by their regular captain Michael Clarke. Shane Watson will be
his assistant, though he was ruled out in the second twenty20I due to injury.
They also have called up fast bowler Mitchell Johnson and their former skipper
reliable Ricky Pointing. David Hussey was included in the twenty20 series,
but unfortunately he will be out of the ODI squad because of his poor performance
in the tour of Sri Lanka. Young sensation Pattrick Cummins will be in the squad
too from the Twenty20 squad, in fact he has been chosen for the test series
as well.
There is no doubt that the ODI series will be the real test for these two giants
in Cricket. None of them will give any chance to their opponent to get a win.
South Africa will get the home advantage but it will not guarantee any result
as they are meeting mighty Australia who are desperate to get their lost glory
back at any cost.
