Netherlands take on South Africa in the 16th game of the Cricket World Cup
tournament. The game will be played on March 3 and will be hosted by the PCA in
Mohali. This will be the first game that Mohali will host in this tournament.
South Africa go into this game having convincingly beaten West Indies in their
first encounter. First, the bowling, most notably Imran Tahir took control
of the game by bowling the west Indies side out for a paltry 222. This was followed
by the batsmen breaking no sweat in reaching the target and taking full points
in the game.

On the other hand, Netherlands will look at making things count in this
game. They have had an up and down kind of a tournament but have yet to register
a win. They were good with the bat against England, average with the ball against
them, bad with the ball against West Indies and appalling with the bat against
them.
While South Africa will be the toughest opponent that they will face in the
league stages, it will be important for the Dutch to continue performing in
the same way as they have been doing so far. This will mean that the side needs
to look at Ryan ten Doeschate for inspiration and get going with the bat - something
that the rest of the side hasn't been able to do well.
The South African playing eleven had three spinners in their previous game
against the West Indies. There may be issues in using the same strategy against
Netherlands. For one, Imran Tahir is injured and still recovering from his ailment
- something which the management will look to avoid for this time.
Then again, there is an issue with playing three spinners on the Mohali track
which usually assists swing bowling. The better option would probably be to
go for an extra seam bowler in the game.
The batting should remain the same for South Africa except that the
team may even think of adding an extra batsma to give him a shot before the
start of the main games at the end of the league stage. For now, the side looks
a tad low on batting, which could be a cause for some concern for the team.
Netherlands will be led by Peter Borren and he, along with Bas Zuiderent
will need to do something with the bat to allow the side some chance in the
game.
