India will be gunning for revenge when they come up against Sri Lanka
in the second one dayer of the ongoing five match Sri Lanka vs India test
series. India were blown away in the first one dayer in the face of some brilliant
bowling by the Sri Lankans and having lost out to Sri Lanka on a regular basis
of the past few years, the men in blue will be hungry for revenge when they take
on the Lankans this coming Wednesday at Dambulla.

A miserable batting performance saw India crash down to a miserable score of 146 in the first one
dayer. Despite changing almost all of the their batting line up, the Indians had
no answer to the line up of Muralitharan and Mendis as they slipped to yet another
embarrassing defeat. Mendis in particular tormented the batting line up in the
same way as he has been eating the Indian batting line up all throughout the summer.
Mendis has well and truly taken over the reins from Muttaih Muralitharan and recent
performances are just a small indicative of why he is rated as the next best thing
in International cricket. In additional bad news for India, Virender Sehwag
will be out of this fixture as well as the next five fixtures and given the current
state of affairs, it would take more than a miracle to see India through to a
victory. Sri Lanka on the other hand can be satisfied with yet another annihilation
of the Indian batting line up. Sri Lanka have dominated Indian in all forms of
the game ever since the reverse in the CB Series in Australia and in the trio
of Malinga, Muralitharan and Mendis, they probably possess the deadliest attack
in World cricket at the moment. The batting looks strong as ever with Mahela Jayawardena
and Kumara Sangakkara giving company to Sanath Jayasurya who at thirty
nine years of age is still a handful for most pace bowlers around the world. Mahela
Jayawardena scored an unbeaten sixty five last time around to hand Sri Lanka a
victory and he will be eager to continue that progress when Sri Lanka play India
this coming Wednesday 20th August 2008 at Dambulla in Sri Lanka. Watch all
