Sri Lanka will play Kenya in the 14th game of the Cricket World Cup tournament.
The game will be played on March 1 and will see the game being played at the R
Premadasa in Colombo.
At the outset, it looks like this is one of the more one-sided encounters in
the tournament. after all, Kenya go in to the game with two huge defeats. Their
first game was against New Zealand, in which they were swept aside for 69 all
out, and went down by 10 wickets. In the second game, Kenya decided to
bat second against Pakistan and were set a target of more than 300 to win the
game despite taking two early wickets. There were extras galore and a new World
Cup record was set for it.

In reply, one would have expected the side to get close to the total. Or at
least get some batting practice. Instead, what happened was that Kenya was bowled
out for another paltry around-100 score and that meant that the side has lost
two successive games so easily that it is difficult to see how things can change
from here.
Kenya will need to do something drastic to even come close to scoring 200 in
the game - let alone winning it. For one Sri Lanka has a much better bowling
attack than the rest of the sides and if Lasith Malinga can get himself
fit by the time this game comes around, it will not only make it happier for
the Sri Lankan captain to try him out for such a game but also make life
miserable for the Kenyans.
The question here will be whether the Sri Lankans would want to bat or bowl
first if they won the toss. After all, the batting did not do their job in the
Pakistan game and it will need Sri Lanka to get into the practice of getting
a move on if they need the side to practice some batting.
However, if the Sri Lankans lose the toss and have to field first then it would
mean that it will be the bowling which will be tested for them. The side will
then look to ensure that they can bowl and field like a side wanting to win
the World Cup in a clinical manner.
The flip to that is that they can hardly take away anything from a game like
this apart from hoping for an early finish.
