Finally the two teams Sri Lanka and West Indies have had a game they were
craving for. It not free from rain incident though. With only three overs per
innings lost, in the given circumstances was happily taken by both teams. Sri

The forecast for that game is also tricky, but the management is hopeful that
a complete game may be on the cards. Sri Lanka lead the three match series 1-0
as the first game was washed out without a result.
Sri Lanka put a complete show to win an easy game. It was pleasing performance
with the bowl as Lasith Malinga, Nuwan Kulusekera, Muttiah Muralitharan
and Rangana Herath all got a decent crack at the fragile West Indies batting
lineup.
After restricting them modestly, Upul Tharanaga made a patient century
to lead his side home with eight wickets. Such a performance will thrill Sri
Lanka. They are rated as a strong contender for the World Cup in subcontinent.
Their balanced performances with bat and ball in recent couple of years have
reignited the Lankan class of the 96.
Sri Lanka are looking one of the most balanced teams in the world. Every team
member knows their role. In the last game, Sri Lanka would like to see Ajantha
Mendis perform. Mendis has been slightly out of touch recently. His demise could
mean that Rangana Herath gets to partner the veteran Muralitharan in
the World Cup.
Sri Lanka will enter the Colombo SSC on Sunday as favourites to win the game
and wrap up the series.
Sri Lanka have won four of their last five completed matches.
It was a disappointing game for West Indies on Wednesday. Plenty of
their batsmen got starts but failed to put up a substantial score. Leading up
to a major tournament a performance like that is never ideal to see. West Indies
would be hoping to regain their ground. A victory in the Sunday's game would
give this embattled team a major boost in confidence. West Indies batting has
been decent recently, it is their bowling that lacks the killer instinct and
has been unthreatening against almost every opposition.
West Indies will have to put up a decent effort on February 6 under trying
conditions to level the series.
West Indies have not won any of their last five completed games.
