Hyderabad will play host to New South Wales League game against Trinidad and Tobago on Friday. Both the sides have carried over two points from their previous
wins in the group stage and that will mean that the winner of this game will almost
be through to the next stage of the competition. There are four sides in this
group, Eagles, Somerset, T&T and NSW. Eagles and Somerset are playing a game,
and the winner of the game will be on 2 points in 2 games, where as the losing
team will have 0 off 2. T&T-NSW winner will have 4 off 2, whereas the losing
side will be on 2 off 2. With one more game to play for all the teams, it would
be difficult for the teams to play catch-up with the side with four points.

The T&T side will go into the match brimming with confidence. Under Darren
Ganga, they have played some quality cricket and will look to overcome a much
stronger side now. The Bravo brothers haven't yet had a major part to play with
the bat in the hand, and even if one of the two gets going while batting, things
could only get better for the side. The other huge advantage that they have
over the New South Wales Blues is that they have a bowling attack that
is usually made up of spin bowlers to exploit the conditions. And with the game
to be played at Hyderabad, it will be of a huge advantage to the T&T side
as they have played both their games at Hyderabad as well.
The issue that the New South Wales Blues have is that they rely on their pace
bowling department. This means that Brett Lee and Stuart Clark
will look to pick up wickets up front, as they had been in the previous games.
But the difference there was of the track on which the game was played. The
slow and low track of Feroz Shah Kotla meant that the likes of Lee and Clark
could extract a lot out of the pitch.
The batting will be another thing though. The likes of Dave Warner and Phil Hughes will finally have something to enjoy at the top. Dave Warner,
in particular, will love to go after the bowling, and it would be interesting
to see how the T&T side restricts him at the top. Probably, they may think
of even opening the bowling with a spinner!
All in all, the NSW Blues may start as favourites, but it could change quite
quickly if they have to chase a big enough total.
