The Victorian Bushrangers would want to get back on track in contention
for a place in the semis when they meet the Central Stags. Both the teams have
lost their opening games, the Stags against the Chennai Super Kings and the
Bushrangers against the Warriors.

The Bushrangers who have been billed as one the tournament favorites lost the
game by 28 runs, a game in which they were not in control for the most part.
They conceded runs early on but fought back to bring down the scoring rate and
restricted the Warriors to a score of 158. Then the loss of early wickets and
the failure of the batsmen to stay for a long time cost them the game.
The Central Stags were crushed by the Super Kings whose bowling attack
was lethal under the lights at Durban. The Stags batsmen found both spin and
pace too tough to handle and were bundled out for 94, chasing a target of 152.
However, their bowling was good, at least on the early stages. They picked up
a couple of wickets and slowed down the scoring rate. However, they then allowed
the Super Kings to come back into the game and let them score past 150.
The ground fielding and catching was reasonably good, but the dropped catch
of Anirudha Srikkanth early in the innings cost them a lot in the end.
For a side that is limited on resources, they need to hang on to the catches.
A mistake like that could again prove to be costly against the Bushrangers,
who have two dangerous batsmen in Brad Hodge and David Hussey.
Davis Hussey will become the player with the most number of T20 games and
will overtake Albie Morkel. He wasn't his usual self against the Warriors, hitting
only three fours in his stay at the crease which lasted 27 balls. Hodge was
out to a brilliant catch and will want to give the Bushrangers a steady start
against the Stags.
The bowling was good for the Bushrangers, with the exception of Shane Harwood
who conceded at nearly 12 runs an over and was the main reason behind the Warriors'
explosive start. Victoria would expect some early wickets from Dirk Nannes,
the man with the most number of T20 wickets.
Victoria would want to have a win under their belts before they meet the Chennai
Super Kings in a crucial tie. The Stags go as the under dogs and would look
for a start like they had against CSK and then build on it.
