England hold an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series and with the likes of Broad
and Pietersen in the form of their lives, things look good for the English when
they take the field against South Africa in the fourth One Dayer at Lords this
coming Sunday 31st August 2008.

England were absolutely rampant in the fourth One-Dayer when they crushed South
Africa by 126 runs in a fine all around performance. Batting first, a belligerent
seventy eight from back to form Andrew Flintoff and Ian Bell helped England
to a great start before Samit Patel capped everything up with a five wicket
haul as South Africa collapsed up for a mere 170. England who looked dead and
buried just a couple of weeks ago have come back remarkably in the international
cricket ratings and much of the credit will have to go to Captain Kevin Petersen.
While the South African born flamboyant middle order batsman's inspirational
qualities were never doubted, they were lingering questions on his ability to
handle the heat. However, Pietersen has inspired up much of the team in the
likes of Bell, Harmison and Flintoff and he will be hoping to continue that
effort this time around against South Africa.
South Africa on the other hand, have fallen apart following a great test series
showing. The absence of Greame Smith due to injury has had a strong impact on
the morale of the team and they look like a squad despertaly short of form and
confidence. South Africa have fallen 3-0 down in the series and they will need
to pull up their socks if they are to match up against an inform English batting
line up gunning for revenge following a bad test series. South Africa have always
had mediocore luck in the one day series against England away from home and
with their backs to the wall, the Proteas will be hoping to come up with a strong
performance at Lords before they take the flight back home following
a mixed series against England.
