India have improved immensely in the past twelve months
following their disappointing performance in the last World Cup . The
newer generation of Robin Uthappa, Ishant Sharma, Rohit Sharma

eight of their last twelve ODI matches including the seven of their last ten
encounters in Pakistan and given their exploits in the recently concluded CB
Series in Australia, expect the Indian cricket team to give Pakistan a run for
it's money this time around in Lahore.
Pakistan like India are on a roll having won fourteen of their last fifteen
matches on a and will be hoping to improve their home record against India,
which has been rather timid in recent years. Pakistan come into this clash on
the back of a huge 155 run win against Hong Kong in their previous encounter.
However, the score line was a bit flattering as Pakistan were laid low by Hong
Kong in the early stages of their innings only for a fine fighting partnership
in the India to sort things out. Pakistan have won each of their last ten matches
at home, albeit against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh and will be hoping that the
likes of Afridi and Umar Gul can stretch that number to eleven. The biggest
strength of the Pakistan cricket team has been the recent emergence of Sohail
Tanvir. The Young paceman is very much looking the par and much of Pakistan's
performance in this clash will depend on the young capable shoulders of Sohail
Tanvir.
