South Africa will be looking to take one step further in demolishing
an already fragile West Indies confidence when they host the fourth one
dayer at the Kingsmead Oval in Durban in three days. South Africa have
an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series and on the current turn of events, it
would take something out of the ordinary for anything out of South African rout
over the West Indies to occur.

West Indies have blown away all the good after in the first
test match at Cape Town a month back with some miserable performances in the
last six games in different versions of the game and will be hoping that this
efficient and ruthless South Africa will be a bit touchy in Durban if they are
to get anything back from this series. The West Indies are currently five players
short of their ideal ODI team and with Captain Chris Gayle, Ramnaresh Sarwan and Shivnarine Chanderpaul cooling their heels in the treatment
table, Captain Dwayne Bravo will know that the task ahead of this West Indies
side is pretty uphill indeed. South Africa on the other hand have no such issues
as they look to give retiring veteran Shaun Pollock a perfect farewell
with a victory over their Caribbean opponents at the Kingsmead Oval in three
days time.
South Africa wrapped up the series with a convincing six wicket
victory over the West Indies in their last match. Put into bat, the Windies
put up a much better performances with the bat as compared to their lame outings
in the first two matches and for once, South Africa looked to be in pressure.
Marlon Samuels was the star show of an inspired West Indies batting performance
as it was his fabulous 98 that included a mauling of Dale Steyn that accounted
for a bulk of the ninety odd runs hammered by the West Indies in the last nine
overs. However, the Caribbean outfit are currently struggling through a lack
of fast bowlers and the seemingly challenging target never really troubled a
strong South African batting line up on a Sunny afternoon. Jacques Kallis
was given good company by Graeme Smith and Jimmy Duminy as the
South Africans made light of the West Indies scored and eventually Kallis reached
a well deserved hundred which helped South African lodge a thumping six wicket
victory over their Caribbean rivals. Kallis has been in sublime touch ever since
the World Cup and the West Indies think tank needs to pull something extraordinary
out of the closest if they are to stem what is now a stinking rot.
