The trophy has been retained but Australia will be keen to not slip away
when they face the hosts West Indies in the third test match starting on
Monday. The visitors lead the series 1-0 after two matches.
The second test match ended in a draw after testing times for both the sides.
In the end, rain had the final word as an expectedly thrilling chase was cut
short. Australia have dominated so far in the series thanks to their perseverance
that lands them out of trouble in difficult times. Patient batting in both innings
helped them to build an edge in the match and will look to do the same again. Michael Hussey is known for grinding hard and was ably supported by Michael Clarke and Shane Watson. Ricky Ponting will also be hoping to impress in his last test match on the Caribbean soil, and his last test match for a while with no test cricket lined up anytime soon.

West Indies had their moments of joy in the match, and have their traditional
hero Shivnarine Chanderpaul to thank for keeping them afloat. He scored 94 while
Narsingh Deonarine played his role in a patient knock of 55 runs. Captain Darren Sammy has expressed hope that his developing side will continue to do better
in the coming matches as they look to upstage Australia. Kemar Roach
had a good game, picking up two five-wicket hauls and will be confident of an
even better show in the coming match. Fidel Edwards may miss out owing to an
injury that could see Ravi Rampaul play in the match while Devendra Bishoo
has been removed from the squad. His place has been taken by Assad Fudadin,
the left-handed batsman from Guyana.
The third test match will be played in Dominica where the only test match played
before ended in a draw.
